Wrights Plastics at WidthWise15

Wrights Plastics was honoured to be asked to take part in the annual Width Wise forum, organised by wide format specialist publication Image Reports, edited by the very lovely Lesley Simpson.

The event took place in the heart of London’s commercial sector at The Mercer bar and restaurant on Threadneedle Street. Amongst the great and the good of the printing industry were Stuart Maclaren of Your Print Partner, Rob Kelly of Displayways, Richard Clark of Raccoon Graphics and Ben Morris of CallPrint – not forgetting our very own Commercial Director Andy Watkins. Hosted by the lovely Sue Weekes (aided by Sales Manager, dapper James Magnini) and with Paul Simpson making notes as fast as his arm allowed, the scene was set for a lively discussion on the immediate past and future of wide format printing. Print PR guru Andy Scott ensured there was no biting or gauging.

Kicking off at a civilised noon and fortified with a selection of snacks and sandwiches, the famous five debated such weighty topics such as “Do you think the sector will see an increase in takeovers/acquisitions/formal partnerships?” “Why are some ‘niche’ markets seen as workable and others clearly not?” “Where do you think the biggest market opportunities lie for your own company – and for the sector?” and “What should the sector as a whole be doing to secure its future?” across a number of topic headings. The forum benefited from the variety of companies involved, and from the very strong opinions held by some of the sector’s longest serving people.

The full report can now be read in the latest Image Reports. We hope you enjoy reading as much as we enjoyed taking part.
