Press Release: A Midlands manufacturing success story as West Bromwich firm sets new standard for Marks and Spencer

A West Bromwich retail display manufacturer has become the first supplier to meet exacting new standards for retailer Marks and Spencer. The achievement has secured a large order for the long established plastics specialists Wrights Plastics and a developing relationship with one of the major retail organisations in the world.

Wrights Plastics develop solutions for a range of clients and a major aspect of the business is creating bespoke retail display and point of sale display. The company have worked with a number of prestigious clients including Selfridges, The John Lewis Partnership and The Raddison Hotel Group but this project for the one UK’s leading retailers posed fresh challenges for the company as Commercial Director Andy Watkins explained “Marks and Spencer naturally want their retail displays to look as good as the clothes they are displaying but there had been an issue with the electrical failure on some displays and light boxes. This meant poor looking displays and costly replacements.

In order to solve the problem Marks and Spencer set an exacting new electrical standard for their retail display light boxes – and we were delighted when we became their first supplier to meet this new standard.”

The company developed a light box for use in conjunction with displays of Marks & Spencer’s popular ‘Limited’ range of womenswear which met the new standard and is being introduced into stores across the country. The success meant a big order for the West Midlands manufacturer – and strengthened their relationship with the organisation.

Andy continued “We are pleased that as a team we were able to meet this latest challenge – and we know Marks and Spencer are delighted with the outcome.”
