It’s an acrylic furniture world!

Since the launch of our acrylic furniture range we’ve been overwhelmed by the extensive use of acrylic furniture in homes of all styles and ages. At Wrights GPX we have concentrated on items that also cross-over into our core retail market. We offer Coffee Tables, Nests of Tables, Monitor / TV Stands, Acrylic Blocks, Photo and much more, but this range is little compared to a whole extensive of very bespoke – and very expensive – items available from designers around the world. From padded benches to chest of drawers, console tables to hanging bubble chairs, you name it and there will be an acrylic version to buy!

We might not be Kelly Hoppen but the design benefits of acrylic furnishings are clear (sorry!) A great way of creating more space or the feel of more space is by using transparent furniture or accessories. See-through furniture looks weightless and is especially fitting when you have tight spaces like a city apartment or a small boudoir to design. Airiness is created with the combination of acrylic pieces of furniture with more traditionally finished furniture items.

It’s certain that such furniture is here to stay as part of the interior design of many homes. Again, the internet is full of examples of the furniture being used in many different properties and many different styles. Of course, it has the trendiness of a minimalist loft apartment, but acrylic furniture also seems to work well in cottages where space is at a premium and as much light and air as possible needs to be introduced.

Acrylic also has other advantages. If made from good quality, the acrylic will last a long time and it is much lighter than traditional furniture items so is ideal for older citizens who still like to move furniture around. Easy to clean, shatterproof and hard-wearing are more advantages, and these advantages are also responsible for the increased use of acrylic furniture as part of point of sale display and in office environments.

If you have a taste for acrylic furniture, tell us all about it (and send some photos if you can).
