Ann Rattigan to bring “focus, adaptability and vision” to Wrights Plastics GPX

Ann Rattigan joins the Wrights Plastics teamWrights Plastics latest recruit Ann Rattigan brings a wealth of experience to her Business Development role. Whether as MD of her own business or overseeing supplier relations at the UK’s favourite retailer, Ann believes that her focus, adaptability and vision have helped her build success and add value wherever she has worked.

Ann joins the West Bromwich retail display specialist following her spell as consultant at Marks & Spencer.  Working for their Property Group, Ann oversaw 5000 supply-side products used in shop layout, display and facilities management. She was tasked with negotiating terms and conditions for M&S’s Tier 1 suppliers in this area. An initial three month contract doubled in length as Ann developed invaluable insights into the corporate way of working – insights she is keen to utilise in her new role.

Previous to her M&S role, Ann spent three years at a bespoke Commercial & Retail Joinery, starting in project management and eventually also adding Procurement Manager responsibilities for the three businesses in the Group. She is very clear on the insights she gained at that organisation: an understanding of the whole end to-end-process. “Understanding the whole process from raw material to finished installation is so important. It ensures we have a full understanding of costs, production, lead times– as well as help extend our service offering to benefit the client. I think giving the client an insight into these processes will help them – and help us grow our business.”

Ann has also been MD in a small bespoke manufacturing business that supplied shopfitting and retail. She is, therefore, used to being a woman in what is still the male dominated world of manufacturing. “I have always endeavoured to do the best.  My aim is always to be judged on results” she says.

Ann joins Wrights Plastics at an exciting time as they look to expand into new markets. This is supported by further investment in plant as well as increased staffing throughout the business. Two recent Manufacturing Business Awards are recognition of their growth and importance to “I am incredibly excited to be joining the company at this time. They have shown a commitment to supporting UK manufacturing and the local jobs market and I’m looking forward to making a contribution to that growth.
