Your Guide To Using An A Board

An A board is a portable frame used for marketing and advertising purposes. Promotional print, posters and signs are placed in the frame to communicate promotions, events and other information. The A board is portable and usually placed on a pavement but they can also be used indoors.

A boards are also known as aboards, pavement signs, forecourt signs or sandwich boards. The name comes the shape the frame makes when extended.

Using an A board

Retailers, market traders, tradesman and event organisers often use an A-board signs can add to their business. As well as on pavements the boards often used at  car boot sales, farmer’s markets, indoor markets and exhibitions and events. Increasingly contractors use them outside locations where they are working to promote their business in the neighbourhood.

The advantages of an A board

An advantage of an A board is that it can be moved from location to location fairly easily. Depending on the content in the frame it can have a big impact, seen by a huge footfall that might otherwise not walk past or be aware of the shop, business or organisation.

It is a useful space in which to promote the brand, services and products, special offers & deals, new stock or season ranges, price lists, events and other activities.

A board sizes

An A board is available in a range of standard print sizes. An A2 A board will hold an A2 print and is then entry level Aboard. An A1 A Board and A0 A Board hold A1 and A0 print respectively. Although larger and heavier their ability to create an impact is also greater.

Impact is also maintained if the content of the sign – the print, poster etc – is regularly updated. Most frames are designed to ensure it is easy to replace and update the print.
