Today we have announced the buy-out of Mid West Displays, the Shrewsbury-based manufacturer and installer of display systems and products.
The buy-out represents a major expansion for us and will ensure we develop new markets with an extended service offering.
Mid West Displays was formed in 2004 and are a leading manufacturer, supplier and installer of window & interior displays for the retail, property sector and exhibition sectors. Around 40 people work at their Shrewsbury HQ. They also fabricate acrylic bespoke and off-the-shelf acrylic products.
Two years ago we introduced the LEDMAG range of estate agent window displays and we can now add many more tried-and- tested display products into our range.
The buy-out of Mid West Displays marks another example of our growth through acquisition of other businesses. In 1998 we purchased POS manufacturer Acrylics Plus and in 2010 we bought out the Hertfordshire-based GPX Group, enabling us to expand the manufacturing and supply of a range of acrylic retail and Point of Sale display products.
Committed to UK Manufacturing
One of the main reasons that we decided to add Mid West Displays to the organisation was the fit between the two companies. In particular both companies have shown a commitment to UK manufacturing, investing in people and technology to ensure UK manufactured products remain competitive in a global economy, and boosting employment in the UK manufacturing sector.
We can now use our strengthened purchasing power to reduce costs, and we will undertake joint marketing activity to tell the market place about our boosted range of products and services.
MD Mike Wright paid tribute to the Wrights Plastics workforce. “We could only make add Mid West Displays to the business because of the financial stability and sales growth of Wrights Plastics – and that is thanks to the hard work and dedication of all the team. The acquisition is aimed at securing the future growth of the company.”
