Wall display for Selfridge’s Oxford Street

The history of Mr Selfridge may have been a recent TV hit but Wright’s Plastics became a small part of Selfridge’s history as we designed, fabricated and installed a stunning full height retail display feature at their flagship Oxford Street store.
The Challenge – to create a stunning feature display unit as part of a new retail display. The deadline was tight and the finished display needed to match the high quality featured in the store voted Best Department Store in the World in the Global Department Store Summit, Paris 2012
The Solution – basing our work on a sample provided by the client we developed a simple but effective and stunning design comprising approx 100 circular plastic rods of varying length and finish cemented onto a clear acrylic base. These were then used as ‘bricks’ with which to build the feature wall.
In total we manufactured over 200 individual units and installed in the store – that around 20,000 rods in total!
We had less than three weeks to complete production from sign off of design and our expert installation team had just three days to complete installation on-site
The Outcome – A stunning design manufactured to a high quality specification within the agreed timeframe and another addition to the Selfridge story.
